NEEDLE SHARING: Gang Bangs!  CD HANDS

Here we are then after quite the hiatus, with Roland Danielzig now bringing in another member to the fold in the form of Sascha Turtur.

Booting off the album is the simplistic and infectious ‘All Links Are Dead’, with furiously up-tempo rhythms and distinct Raga influences and trance like warps.  This leads into ‘Corporate Whore’, with intricate cut up breaks loosening up the space in which the wobbly electronics follow on from the opening track.

‘Hypnoskull’ makes an appearance on track 3, with its grimy low bass patches grinding away over rhythm sections, to eventually slow to a mash of vocals and chopped up perfection; couple this with the all out madness and harmonies of ‘Fuxushima Disco’ and there’s no doubt, that this latest instalment of Needle Sharing may be the best we have ever heard from the project.

It’s fair to say, there are a heck of a lot of influences on this album that stand out.  I hear Bong-Ra, and End.User amongst the mix stylistically and a whole host of other influences; however, this has all been done with a flair that was only really evident on this projects inception a long time ago and the new found vigour of Needle Sharing is like a breath of fresh air.

It simply has been too long since NS were on the circuit, but now they’re back, doubled in size and quadrupled in energy.  The production on ‘Gang Bangs!’ is nothing short of mighty and the tracks ooze quality from the moment you hit play, right up to completion, where the urge is almost irresistible to repeat listen.
